Digital Art with Music - Bjork

Without any doubt Bjork is one of the most innovative and experimental contemporary artists.
And one of my favourites. Her music is so powerful and constantly reminding me of nature, especially  in her last singles and videos. Lately she has been sperimenting with different digital medias and in particular with VR.

I chose to share here the video of  Stonemilker, the first single in her last album, Vulnicultura, because it shows exactly what I mean when I think about digital art. The start of the video seems quite normal, it's just her singing next to the sea. But this video is made using 360 degrees virtual reality and she slowly starts to walk in circles, getting out our vision, but we can follow her movements just turning our device around, having a 360 degrees vision of the beautiful Icelandic environment. At some point she even double herself.

This video creates a very immersive experience in her music and feelings, also when she sings she directs her gaze and gestures to the camera and at some point I even felt uncomfortable as she gets very near.

Even though she is not one of the youngest contemporary artists, she created this amazing experience which is completely new in music environment.

I am really happy to share this on my blog.
